Boy Scouts of America - Troop 210

Meeting Times and Place: Every Monday from 7:30 to 9:00 in the Church Fellowship Hall. We swim at Baldwin high school on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Adult committee meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 The purpose of Troop 210 is to offer the scouting opportunity to boys in the surrounding communities. The Boy Scout program offers much to young people. Wholesome activities are a basic part of the program. Camping, hiking, biking, swimming, skiing and community service projects are among the activities. Young men are given the opportunity to be leaders and develop leadership skills. All members learn the importance of working as a team and the strength of being a team. The program also stresses the importance of a good way of life. The Scout Oath and Law are used as guides for the scouts to live by. The program provides a lot of fun but also gives a positive opportunity to the youth of our area.

Troop 210 has been in existence at Good Shepherd for 22 years. We currently have 34 registered scouts and 31 registered leaders (this includes ten Eagle Scouts). The troop currently has ten members who could achieve their Eagle awards within the next year. The troop schedules one to two activities per month. One of the activities is a campout and the other is a bike hike, regular hike or a community service project. We average about 400 service hours per year.
